I think that this design works well on a range of different levels. It has the feel of a busy desk but still able to make out what everything is. It has a mix of both new and old elements, like the typewriter but right next to it is an iPhone, lots of written work but also a comb. They might just be so things that can be found on a desk or things that the person is into. The typewriter and letters for writing, the comb for hairdressing and the iPhone to link them all up in a modern way.
I like the design of this one as it is well spaced out and the text is easy to read as it only uses 3 colours. It has a simple scheme that lets the text really pop out. The over all design is fairly simple but its that kind where less is more and I think that it works a lot more this way then adding any more. The thing that i don't like is that the text is all different sizes. It gives it a really disjointed look and padded in some places.
With this CV, I don't think is that well designed. The background is to bright compared to the text, which is pretty boring. With the smaller text, it can be very hard to make out and read. The picture also doesn't look right, with a creepy smile. The black box also looks out of place and throws the rest of the scheme off.
I like this CV, right from the get go you can tell exactly what this person's skill set is. The CV is simple and streamlined. It only has what would be needed on a CV like this, the skills and experience that this person has. The background is plain but the logo in the bottom left corner. It is extremely simple but it works with the rest of the design. The one part I do like is that the Adobe logo's are designed like they are on a Mac.
With this CV, you can tell right away that it is aimed at writing or journalism. With the look of a magazine, it really gives off the right kind of vibe for a writing CV. It also shows off some possible PhotoShop skills with the way that it has been edited together.
